The Women’s Housing Coalition is expanding our staffing and volunteering base in 2017. Due to the rising need of assistance for the chronically homeless women in Baltimore, we are adding additional team members in response.
This response came about after a change in Federal funding and the evaluation of the individual needs of our residents. to a change in federal funding and after evaluating the individual needs of our residents. The increase in staffing will offer our residents aid that was not available before.
We are pleased to announce that we will be adding residential counselors to our trained staff that will be around to assist the residents after normal business hours. These part-time counselors will be working around 3-4 hours during the week after the residents get home from work/school in assisting with life skills/general life coaching.
It is our hope that this new role will provide the women and their families support in their every-day lives that will allow them to grow in their own lives and support their goals.
We look forward to this change in WHC’s structure and are excited to see how this positively impacts our residents’ lives! If you’re interested in volunteering at The Women’s Housing Coalition, click here.
